TODO SOBRE EL VOLEIBOL
Es otro de los deportes más popular que se practica los países de los cinco continentes del mundo. En distintos idiomas este deporte se denomina así:
Español: Vóley, Volibol, Francés: Volley Bll, Inglés: Volley Ball, Portugués: Volleyball, Sueco: Volleybol, Esperanto: Volejbalo, Findandés: Volley palo, Italiano: Pallovolo, Holandés: Volleyball.
HISTORIA DEL VOLEIBOL
Cuatro años antes de que apareció el básquetbol, en 1895, los concurrentes a los gimnasios de la YMCA (Asociación Cristiana de Jóvenes), en sus instalaciones de Holyoke, Massachusetts (EE.UU.) iniciaron la práctica de un nuevo juego deportivo, creado por William G. Morgan, Director de Cultura Física de ese Instituto.
Una red de tenis y un balón de Basketball fueron los primeros implementos utilizados en la práctica de este nuevo deporte.
Mientras el básquetbol se iba extendiendo rápidamente por todas las naciones del mundo, el vóleibol quedaba confinado a ejercicios de gimnasio.
Su pariente tenía más vivacidad, era de acciones rápidas y hacía desplazamientos que no los hay en el voleibol, recién el Voleibol cobró más adeptos a este juego cuando ganó el aire libre y comenzaron a jugarlo las niñas.
Tuvo aceptación entre las Fuerzas Armadas Estadounidenses y cobró impulso en el medio oeste norteamericano.
La YMCA y sus organizadores filiales fueron desparramando el juego por el mundo y se organizaban concursos, campeonatos y una Federación Internacional de Voley-Ball.
En un congreso efectuado en París (1951) y luego en Bucarest (1953) se estableció por fin las reglas oficiales para este juego, las que fueron adoptadas por las Ligas y Federaciones de todo el mundo.
Con excepción de la altura de la red (el borde superior 2 metros 40 centímetros para los hombres y 2 metros 30 centímetros para los equipos femeninos) la reglas son absolutamente iguales para hombres y mujeres.
LOS EQUIPOS PARA JUGAR EL VOLEIBOL
Seis jugadores por bando constituyen los equipos que, con sus suplentes no puede exceder de 12 por lado.
Deben vestir camiseta, pantalón y calzado liviano, nada de sombreros, pañuelo o aditamentos (alhajas, brazaletes, etc.).
La sustitución de un jugador se efectúa durante las suspensiones del juego a pedido del capitán o el entrenador del equipo, durante una interrupción de juego está prohibido a los jugadores abandonar el campo de lucha.
El entrenador puede conversar con ellos, pero sin entrar a la cancha, por otro lado para reemplazar a un jugador del equipo se dispone de un minuto y si al término de ese lapso el cambio no se ha hecho, se cargará al equipo un periodo de descanso.
Cuando un jugador es reemplazado después de transcurrido un minuto, el equipo no tiene derecho a pedir otro cambio hasta que el juego se haya reiniciado.
Existen una serie de disposiciones referentes a los cambios de jugadores durante un partido de voleibol, que bien vale la pena aprenderse el reglamento a fin de no incurrir en faltas que, durante la competencia puedan perjudicar al equipo.
BALÓN DE VOLEIBOL
Desde sus inicios el balón de Voleibol siempre fue más pequeño que el de baloncesto y el de fútbol, en sus inicios se utilizó una pelota o balón inflado, con forro de cuero, que medía 75 a 80 cm de circunferencia y pesaba unos 285 g.
En la actualidad el balón flexible mide entre 65-67 centímetros de circunferencia y pesa entre 260-280 g. de peso y de presión interior de 0,3-0,325 kg/cm2. Puede estar hecho de varios materiales como el de plástico para entrenamientos pero el más cómodo y actualmente usado de manera profesional es en material de cuero.
TÉCNICA DEL JUEGO
Para jugar el volibol aire libre, sólo se necesita contar con un terreno plano, cubierto o no de césped, que mide 18.30 m. de largo por 9.15 m. de ancho.
A mitad de la cancha y en forma que la divida en dos cuadros iguales de 9.15 m. por lado, se coloca una red sostenida por dos postes laterales. La red mide 90 centímetros de ancho y su parte superior deberá quedar a 2.43 m. de altura sobre el suelo si se trata de equipos masculinos y 2.24 m. si es de equipos femeninos.
En los partidos de volibol compiten dos equipos y se otorga el triunfo al primero que noté los 25 tantos, siempre que la ventaja sobre el equipo contrario sea por lo menos de dos tantos; si la anotación estuviesen empatada en 24 tantos, continuar el juego hasta que alguno de los equipos obtenga la ventaja que se ha mencionado, ya sea con una anotación de 26-24, 27-25, 28-26, etc.
De los seis jugadores que tiene cada equipo, tres son delanteros y tres medios. Los primeros se colocan en línea recta, cerca de la red y los segundos en otra línea, cerca del extremo de la cancha.

EL OBJETO DEL JUEGO
Pegarle al balón con la mano y lanzarla por arriba de la red y sin permitir que llegue a tocar el suelo. A cada tanto que se registra, se pone el balón en juego mediante un saqué hecho a mano.
El saque es la puesta en juego del balón por el zaguero derecho que golpea esta con la mano (abierta o cerrada) o cualquier parte del brazo para enviarlas sobre la red al campo contrario.
El balón debe ser golpeado después de haber sido lanzada, es decir, que el balón no debe ser sostenido por el jugador. El saque puede ser efectuado saltando o corriendo. Cada jugador continúa en el puesto de saque, hasta que el juez anuncie “cambio de saque”. (posiciones y rotaciones)
